Philosophy
My educational philosophy is that I strongly believe
that children are capable learners,
who have the potential to learn and are curious about the world around them. I believe they are explorers,
inquirers, innovators and
independent thinkers. Children
have a say in my educational
curriculum, and I respect
and consult with children for their ideas. I believe that all children have
the right to communicate. They should be listened to, inquired about,
cared for, and they all have the right to learn. I respect the role of children in building knowledge
by exploring the
world around them and connecting
with everything. I
encourage children to collaborate and
communicate with others in exploration,
experimentation, discovery, adventure,
creativity, imagination, and interaction.
My outline emphasizes
building strong relationships
with children and parents based on trust, respect, and open communication.
Families are the most important people in our children's lives, so I
strive to involve children and parents in our decision-making. I value the
importance of games, play, emotions, and feelings in the early education
curriculum. I am committed to promoting children's interest in learning by
recognizing and responding to their independent ideas and interests in play,
helping them to learn, experience, and interact naturally and consciously. I am
committed to creating an experience-rich environment for children, giving them
the opportunity to explore, discover, and express themselves in a variety of
ways in undisturbed space and time. I celebrate their perceptions and document
them to share with children, parents and families. I am committed to
creating an outline rooted in sustainability practice activities to foster
children's respect and appreciation for nature and the world around them. I
value the support and participation of my parents in promoting sustainable
development practices in the family and community settings. I am grateful and
respectful of the traditional ethnic groups in the Moreton Bay region, where Explore N Learn is located. By teaching children to understand the traditional cultural
practices of the Quandamooka community, we train them to respect past, present
and future elders. I recognize that Explore N Learn Family Daycare as an integral part of the Mt
Cotton families and is committed to fostering children's connection with the
surrounding community. As an educational leader I am committed to constantly
reflecting on the syllabus and practice.
